Our Day

We are open 47 weeks of the year, we plan our holidays during the school breaks, so we are closed one week over the Christmas break, one week over Easter and three weeks at the beginning of the summer break. We also close for Bank holidays. 

The Rainbow Tree Childcare Holiday Dates 2023-2024

We are closed from Friday 29th March and will reopen on Monday 8th April 2024.

We are closed from Saturday 27th July and will reopen on Monday 19th August 2024. 

We are closed for Bank Holidays.

Our days are spent learning through play. Families are emailed weekly detailed activity and play based plans. The Kinderly Together App, allows parents to follow their child's day. When you join the Rainbow Tree I will send you the link to our subscription.

By using the highly secure Kinderly App you will be able to share in your child's early years learning journey, in your child's wow moments, developmental observations, and view the daily diary updates of meals, naps, nappy changes, drinks and activities.

At the Rainbow Tree we really enjoy being outdoors, apart from playing in our large garden, we also often visit local parks, playgrounds, beaches, Maritime Museum, National Trust and English Heritage properties, Trebah Gardens, local play groups and the local library. Please be aware that if your child joins us at The Rainbow Tree they will become little explorers! And rainbow hunters!

Daily routines!

Never the same day twice! We like to mix things up at the Rainbow Tree.

So we are always looking for new things to experience, see, learn and do!

8:00

We start our day with a warm welcome and a choice of a wide variety of play based exploration set ups. 

Breakfast is available.

9:30am 

Snack time is between 9:30am-10:00am, we enjoy snack around our large circular table.

After snack we are either preparing to leave The Rainbow Tree to go exploring or explore our amazing garden.

On our way back to The Rainbow Tree we may also pop in to one of our local parks, for a run around, and a slide and swing session. 

12:00-13:00 

Lunchtime, calming play. This includes story time, song time, puzzles and an adult led activity.

12:30 - 15:00ish! 

Our play and learning continues at the Rainbow Tree, through child initiated and adult led play and activities. 

Or we may venture out and about again to a garden, castle, beach, playground or library. 

3:00 - 6:00pm 

Afternoon snack. 

Child initiated play inside and outside. 

 

All play opportunities and activities are planned following the government's Development Matters document, which is a non statutory curriculum guidance document for the Early Years Foundation Stage. We cover the seven areas of the EYFS, the prime areas are Communication and Language, Physical Development and Personal, Social and Emotional Development. The specific areas are Literacy, Maths, Understanding the World, Expressive Arts and Design.

What you need to bring with you.

We would like to keep a pair of your wellies at The Rainbow Tree! So we can go puddle hunting!

Please provide a change of clothes, we will get messy!

Nappies.

We don't wear shoes inside The Rainbow Tree so you are welcome to provide slippers or indoor shoes.

Sun cream.
