About Us
Hi I'm Jo, welcome to the The Rainbow Tree!
The Rainbow Tree is an exciting teacher lead childcare setting for Falmouth, which opened September 2022.
I have 12+ years experience of teaching nursery and reception children in Primary school settings. Before I became a teacher, I was employed as a nanny caring for newborn and older aged children.
I hold a Degree in EYFS teaching, and I'm a member of The Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years (PACEY).
When myself and my partner, were looking for a childminder for our own child now aged 9, we were looking for a small homebased childcare setting that was teacher lead, so that through her daily play our child would also be learning.
It was also important to us for our child to have the opportunity to spend a good part of her day outdoors exploring the world! in different environments, like the beach, parks, woods and of course play grounds!
So at The Rainbow Tree we make it our mission to get out and about as often as possible exploring all year round!
So in a way, we have set up what we were looking for but couldn't find, we hope you like what you have found.
What I offer
I offer a safe, loving, welcoming home based childcare setting were each child is treated as a member of The Rainbow Tree family.
Our learning environment
The Rainbow Tree is based in our family home in Falmouth we have a dedicated playroom that leads directly to our garden which is equipped with water play and a mud kitchen as we do like messy play!
As a fully qualified teacher with many years experience of following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, with the weekly planning of interesting creative set ups the children in my care will learn by exploring their world, by playing and being active.
My teaching methods are creative indoors and outside, which in response allows the children to be creative in return, enabling them to develop critical thinking.
Through the seven EYFS areas of learning and development, your child will learn new skills and learn new things everyday.
